My life with/without you

I'm a little nervous posting this...its the first time I have been in
a group like this.

How can I explain in only 10 minutes your impact upon my life?

Because of you, I understand what it is to live for another. Your
smile sends me to the heights of joy, and when you are frustrated or
angry, sometimes I feel so helpless, because I can do nothing but be
there and hold you close. Yet even as I hold you, we are separated
by distance and only connected by the magic of this thing called the
Internet, and the words that we share on the screen.

Our visits are few and far between, but we talk every day, sharing
little moments of life. Honestly, though, sometimes I just ache to
feel your arms around me. That is one of the things often left unsaid
between us, for I know that you feel it too. And, we must deal with
what reality is.

Some writing that I wanted to save and expand on:

My muses seemed to sleep for years and now, all of a sudden, they are
invading my thoughts with fragments of ideas. Not one is finished,
but all I can do is write down the bit that they deign to share with
me and hope that I have a scrap of paper nearby when the next flash
of inspiration hits.

There are some things that have really helped my writing. The first
one is the computer. I have cerebral palsy and arthiritis so the act
of writing has always been very difficult. Because it was so hard and
time consuming to get the words down, they had to be perfect the
first time. There was no time for revisions.

The second thing that really helped me was reading books by Julia
Cameron. _The Right to Write_ helped me see what I had been avoiding
in myself. I love words and books and ideas and poetry, but I never
thought I could write them myself. Working through some of the
exercises in this book, especially, the Morning Pages (writing that
you do every morning at the start of the day to clear out the mental
clutter) has made a big difference in my writing and in my life.

If you would like to read some sample chapters of Ms. Cameron's work,
go to this link: http://www.spiritsite.com/writing/julcam/

The last thing that has really made a difference for me, is realizing
that I _am_ a writer. I write because it gives me pleasure to do so.

Congratulations on your two lines of poetry. May the next two lines
of the poem find you when you have pen and paper, or keyboard at hand.

Now, my Life path is 4.... and much of what I find for this number is true: I am a perfectionist, and I hate making mistakes. I do like order but not at the sake of beauty.

But my personal year number is 3:

"This is an important year of learning and creative expression, artistically, through reading, writing, and speaking, and through dabbling in new intellectual pursuits -- like picking up new classes, exploring new hobbies, or embarking on some kind of self-directed study of new interests. The more variety you have in your world now, the more options you'll find appealing and profitable. Emphasize your versatility. Grow a little." From
